Sample Grooms Wedding Speech
“Thank you all for coming out tonight. It just means the world to (Insert bride’s name here) and I that you are here to support us on our new life together. I just want to take a minute and say a few words to my lovely bride-to-be. (Insert bride’s name here), I can’t express how happy you have made me. I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life making you just as happy. Hard times might come, but as long as we have each other I know we’ll make it through anything. To our families, thank you for raising us, for standing behind and beside us. To our friends, thank you for keeping us grounded and giving us the friendship that sustains us. So let’s drink to tomorrow, and to each one of you. Cheers!”
Breaking Down the Speech
You are there to thank people. They drove along way, and have probably put just as much into your success over the years as you have. People need to feel like you appreciated what they did for you. Now here’s the catch. You need to thank them in the correct order or you run the risk of insulting someone. Most people have and idea of where they should land on the the thank you totem poll. Really the bulk of your grooms wedding speech should be thanking your guests.
Thank You’s in the Grooms Wedding Speech
It is imperative that you say your thank you’s in the correct order. So here’s the rule of thumb to follow. He who will get mad the least is the last. Therefore, your lovely new bride needs to go first in the grooms wedding speech. Obviously ticking her off twenty-four hours before your wedding night, not advisable. Second, thank your family. Never forget where you came from. Mom’s probably going to want to be noticed too. If you can address your mom then her mom and then your dads, go with that. Friends shouldn’t care that much. After all, they are just there to have a good time anyway.
